Arkadæum Legacy Book Two | Voidsworn

Working Blurb & Chapter Zero

Latika Veithfaron may not be the first sibling in line for the Rachian throne, but she holds her official duties as a member of the royal family above all else. She’s been tasked with ensuring a summit between the Collective’s officials and foreign dignitaries goes off without a hitch. It’s her chance to prove her indispensability and impress the influential. Her plans are disrupted when she receives threats over her special guest at the summit, and her prying into their origins places her in the path of a cabal aimed at the heart of her nation.

Jhaloreal Tabriz doesn’t remember her life prior to two years ago, except that she traded those memories and her voice for the power over shadows she now wields. These days, Jae is employed as a body guard and first hand to a lord vintner-turned-spymaster. When Latika crosses too far into their investigation, they must work together to prevent an assassination and unravel a sinister plot. And while the two women grow closer during their time, an uncomfortable reality looming over them may keep them apart.

Meanwhile, on Grihm Atoll, Blaise and Kelleth face the repercussions of their bittersweet victory as they attempt to salvage alliances and investigate an opportunity that refuses to be ignored.

‘What the hell is a chapter zero, anyway?’ you may be asking. ‘Isn’t that just a prologue?’

Sort of. Ish. It’s prologue-adjacent. For me, like a prologue, it’s a chapter before the main story takes place. Every chapter zero in this series will feature a pov from a character whose pov won’t feature again but who will appear within the story in an important way, like Lina’s pov featured in the previous chapter zero.
